Thanks for a great season of Learn To Curls! Fall 2024 LTCs will open for registration in late August/early September. For the immediate notification of when these events open, join the New Learn to Curl Notification mailing list on the right hand side of this page.

If you've ever wanted to try an Olympic sport, without the mountains or the beaches, then curling might just be for you! The Columbus Curling Club's Learn To Curl Clinics are designed for beginners who want to try curling. Whether you're looking to eventually join a curling league, or just check something off your bucket list, you can expect a fun evening of sportsmanship both on and off the ice.

Registration & Fees
The cost is $50/participant for a two-hour session led by certified curling instructors. A group can all sign up for the same learn to curl together if the spots are available, but registration is required for each individual.
Please see the information on Private Outings for scheduling an outing for groups of up to 24.
What to expect
The session consists of 15 minutes of off-ice instruction, about 50 minutes learning how to sweep and deliver stones, then it's off to play a couple of ends of a game. Afterwards, you are invited to spend some time in the warm room broomstacking (socializing) with your team and opponents.
For participants under 18 years of age
If the participant is under 18 years of age then their parent/legal guardian will need to sign a liability release form. We also have a Concussion Awareness and Information sheet for parents to read.
What time should I arrive?
Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to sign in and and change your shoes.
What do I wear? Your curling experience will be much more enjoyable if you wear the proper attire:
  • Bring a clean pair of rubber soled tennis shoes to change into at the club. This is required.
  • Wear loose fitting, stretchy clothing. Jeans are not recommended as they may restrict leg movement.
  • Dress in layers. The air temperature on the ice is around 40 degrees, but can get as low as 32 degrees depending on the outdoor temperature. You may get warm from sweeping and want to remove a layer of clothes.
Are spectators allowed to come and watch?
What is the refund policy?
- Due to ice limited availability, we request that you give us as much notice as
possible if you need to cancel your Learn-to-Curl class reservation. It gives us
time to be able to fill the spot.
- Cancellations made 7 days or more in advance of the Learn-to-Curl class date,
will receive a 100% refund.
- Cancellations less than 7 days in advance of the Learn-to-Curl class date, will not
receive a refund.
- In case of extenuating circumstances (illness, accidents or serious, time-critical
issues), the Future Player Pipeline has the discretion to work with you to re-
schedule if the calendar allows.
The Columbus Curling Club is too far away from me. Are there other curling clubs in Ohio?
