Learn To Curl

The Learn to Curl Clinic consists of 15 minutes of off-ice instruction, about 50 minutes learning how to sweep and deliver stones, then it's off to play a couple of ends of a game. Afterwards, you are invited to spend some time in the warm room broomstacking (socializing) with your team and opponents.

Minimum age to participate is 12 years old depending on your child's weight (they would have to push a 42-pound stone hard enough for it to go over 100 feet) and maturity level (they would be learning and playing alongside with adults). Please visit the Juniors/Young page for more information.

Instructional League

The Instructional League is for people who have taken a Learn to Curl Clinic or otherwise given curling a try. This five-class course will develop your curling skill and prepare you for league play should you decide to join. If you would like to continue to curl after completing an Instructional League, you can join as a full member or sign up to do another Instructional League.

Each two hour session starts with delivery drills aimed to improve balance and alignment, then the group breaks into teams to play several ends of a game. You will have an opportunity to play the various positions of lead, second, vice-skip, and skip. Instructional League meets for five weeks.

Registration for the 2026/2027 season Instructional Leagues is now open. If this session does not work for you, please sign up for the "New Instructional League notification" mailing list so we can let you know when registration opens for sessions in January/February and March 2026.

Prerequisite: Previous participant in a Learn to Curl Clinic, Corporate, Social or Member Outing or previous curling experience. Please register for a Learn to Curl Clinic if you have never been on curling ice before.
