A successful Annual Meeting of the Member of Columbus Curling Club was held April 29, 2017. With more than 65 fulll member attending in person (and about another 45 by proxy) along with a number of IL and social members and guests gathered for food, fun, and important club business. Here are some of the highlights:
- Congratulations to Volunteer of the Year for the 2016/17 season: Doug Goolsby!
- Four members were elected to the Board: Jack Gaynor, Karen Hamilton, Brian Mark, and Sean Peace. Thank you to everyone who was willing to serve.
- At the meeting of the Board following the election, Jack Gaynor was elected President, Josh Webb selected as Vice President, Martina Rozzell was voted Treasurer, Morag Boyd will continue as chair of the Board, and Heather Yardley will serve another term as secretary.
- The membership voted to support the strategic plan.
We had an amazing curling season, with a remarkable recovery from smoke damage right before the season began. I hope to see you over the summer, and the Board and Commitees will be hard a work planning for next year. See you all on the ice a few short months.
