Due to COVID-19, Learn to Curl Clinics will not be held in fall 2020. Please sign up to the "New Learn to Curl Clinic notification" mailing list in the right column to be notified when we do start scheduling sessions.
Click on the "Learn to Curl" tab to register or click here. Reasons to come out and curl with us:
  • It's a lot of fun!
  • You can do it at any age*
  • You can stick curl if you have problems with your knees and hips
  • It's wheelchair accessible
  • You can curl with your spouse, kids, parents, friends
  • You will make friends
If you have any doubts, come by the club during league times to check us out. We'd be happy to talk to you about curling!
*It is difficult to state a minimum age for our Learn to Curl Clinics, but 10 to 12 years depending on their weight (they would have to push a 42 pound stone hard enough for it to go over 100 feet) and maturity level (they would be playing with adults) is reasonable. A helmet (bicycle or ski is fine) is recommended for children. Please contact us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if your child is interested in our Youth and Little Tykes (age 5 to 10) or junior (age 10-21) curling programs.

Registration & Fees
The Clinic Registration system allows individual registration and payment as well as group registration for groups of friends. The cost is $35/participant for a two-hour session led by certified curling instructors.
Please see the information on Private Outings for scheduling an outing for groups of up to 24.
What to expect
The session consists of 15 minutes of off-ice instruction, about 50 minutes learning how to sweep and deliver stones, then it's off to play a couple of ends of a game. Afterwards, you are invited to spend some time in the warm room broomstacking (socializing) with your team and opponents.
For participants under 18 years of age
If the participant is under 18 years of age then their parent/legal guardian will need to sign a liability release form. We also have a Concussion Awareness and Information sheet for parents to read.
What time should I arrive?
Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to sign in and and change your shoes.
What do I wear? Your curling experience will be much more enjoyable if you wear the proper attire:
  • Bring a clean pair of rubber soled tennis shoes to change into at the club. This is required.
  • Wear loose fitting, stretchy clothing. Jeans are not recommended as they may restrict leg movement.
  • Dress in layers. The air temperature on the ice is around 40 degrees, but can get as low as 32 degrees depending on the outdoor temperature. You may get warm from sweeping and want to remove a layer of clothes.
Are spectators allowed to come and watch?
The Columbus Curling Club is too far away from me. Are there other curling clubs in Ohio?
Here are links to the other clubs in Ohio. If you are out of state, visit USA Curling to search for a club in your area.
